2.40 lakh doses of Covaxin found in an abandoned truck in Madhya Pradesh.

Under mysterious circumstances, a truck carrying 2.40 lakh Covaxin doses was found abandoned on April 30. Police said on Saturday that they found the truck over 900 km away in Narsinghpur district, Madhya Pradesh. It had a Tamil Nadu registration number and was going from Hyderabad to Karnal in Haryana. Vipul Shrivastava, the superintendent of police, Narsinghpur said, as the engine of the vehicle was on, they found the vaccine safe inside the refrigerator and in working condition. Also, the truck driver is missing. The SP also added, “A few people on Friday informed us that a truck was left abandoned in the Kareli area of the district. Police reached the spot and checked the papers to find bills worth ₹8 crores of Covaxin." They informed the driver identified as Vikas Mishra was unreachable for the past 12 hours. The truck was owned by TCI, a transport company in Gurgaon. The driver's phone number was tracked down by the Cyber police and was found near a Dhaba in Narsinghpur. SP said, “While the mobile phone was found in nearby bushes, the driver was nowhere to be found." Later, the transport company sent another driver to Narsinghpur and left for Karnal at around 8:00 pm. The police continued the investigation to find the disappeared driver.
