2 tax officials arrested by ACB in bribery case, burnt 20 lakh rupees out of fear of raid.



As informed by DG (ACB) BL Soni, on March 24, Wednesday night, a tax officer (tehsildar) in Rajasthan's Sirohi district burnt worth Rs 20 lakh after the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested Parvat Singh, a revenue inspector, while taking a bribe of Rs 1 lakh on behalf of tehsildar Kalpesh Kumar Jain. The moment the ACB team reached Jain's house, he locked himself up and reportedly burnt currency notes worth ₹15-20 lakh. The ACB team somehow managed to enter the house and found the burnt notes in the kitchen. Yet, managed to recover Rs 1.5 lakh in cash. Both Parvat Singh and Kalpesh Kumar Jain got arrested. The investigation though is in further progress.
