The 20-year-old girl had gone out to buy some groceries. The girl was forcibly taken in a car by three men, including a primary school teacher, Rajesh Shukla, and his two aides. Local BJP leader Vijay Tripathi was one of his aides.

She was taken to another village where they held her captive in a farmhouse in the Gadaghat area. The girl was forced to drink liquor and was locked in a room. The primary school teacher with the help of two aides, including Vijay Tripathi gang-raped her brutally. Vijay Tripathi is the ruling party’s Jaitpur Mandal president.

She was raped continuously on 18th and 19th February. On February 20, the four accused dumped the girl in front of her house.

According to Shahdol police reports, the girl went missing for two days. Her family reported to the police about their missing daughter. The girl returned after two days on Saturday evening. At first, she wouldn’t speak about the horror as she was in a state of shock. Later on, the cops took the rape survivor to the police station for recording her statements.

The girl alleged that she was gang-raped by the 39-year-old primary school teacher, with the help of two aides, including Vijay Tripathi, the BJP functionary. She was forced to consume liquor and was locked up in a room.

The police have booked the case under IPC Sections 376D (gang-rape), 342 (wrongful confinement), and 34 (crime with common intent) against the three accused, including the school teacher. The ruling party has stated that the accused office-bearer has been removed from its primary membership.

Raids are being conducted to nab the three accused, who are on the run,” Shahdol district police superintendent Avdhesh Goswami reported.

Upon further probing, the police found out that the girl had shared a friendship with the primary school teacher.
