3 men arrested on charges of blackmailing by using Honey Trap in Akola, Maharashtra


The police came to know about the matter when they trapped a government employee, who approached the police and filed a complaint earlier this month.


Maharashtra Police has arrested 3 persons who were allegedly blackmailed numerous residents of Akola District through a honey trap.


The gang defrauded lakhs of rupees from victims, polices aid.

According to the Victim, Priti Thorat had contacted him over the phone, pretending as if she has called by mistake. After several talks, she asked him to meet at a restaurant nearby.


On January 21, she arrived in a car and when the two were having a conversation,3 men arrived and started to assault the complainant alleging he had misbehaved with their sister.


They started threatening the victim by saying, they will file a police complaint against him and defame him by telling people at his office and family members.


Later they demanded 1 lakh to stop them from defaming him. When he realized he has been cheated, he went straight to Police Station and filed the complaint.


With the help of description and other information supplied from the victim, Police held Akshay Chirande, who then revealed names of his two associates, Rahul Ingle and Santosh Yadav.
