The district in charge of Ajit newspaper, Kamaljit Singh Sidhu (45) was found dead. On 19 April, they pulled his body out from the lake in the compound of National Fertiliser Limited (NFL). They arrested 4 people for the abetment of Sidhu, a Punjabi journalist. They reported Sidhu was missing since Saturday afternoon. BS Virk, the Senior Superintendent of Police said: “A handwritten note was found in the cover of Sidhu’s mobile phone naming four persons of a family, including a woman.” Aaswant Dhaliwal (Bathinda DSP) said that the family of four has got arrested and they have filed a case against the four under section 306 (abetment to suicide). The family included a woman, her husband (dismissed from the police department last year), and her two sons. A police official informed that Sidhu’s brother-in-law: the woman charged with rape last year, Gursharan Singh (a DSP). In July last year, Gursharan’s team arrested the woman, her husband, and her son with drugs.
