4 children died as fire broke out at the pediatric ward of the hospital in Bhopal.



Last night fire broke out in the pediatric ICU at Kamla Nehru children's hospital in Bhopal there were 40 children in the ward where four infants succumb to death during the incident. when the hospital caught fire, the blaze started on the third floor of the hospital which houses the ICU.


CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan expressed his grief on Twitter and ordered a high level of inquiry into the incident.

The government announced ex gratis of Rs 4 lakh to the parents of the deceased.


Smoke engulfed the building, triggering the condition of anonymity among the kin of infants. Chaos broke out in the darkened, smoke-filled building, and security staff forced the parent relatives out, whereas they kept arguing and pleading with the police to be allowed in to check on their babies.


The flames and burning wire caused chaos and smog engulfed the floor said Bhopal municipal corporation, fire officer Rameshwar Neel. the region behind this incident is yet to be investigated, for now, an electric short circuit is considered the suspect of the incident.

Although, the flames were doused around midnight, and the fire was quickly brought under the control with the help of 25 fire tenders from Fatehgarh, Bairagarh, and Shahjahanabad stations, children were also shifted to another ward.


Some nurses and staff also suffered smoke inhalation till midnight.
