7 people killed, dozens injured in blast in Pakistan’s religious school


The blast took place in the madarsa


A bomb blast took place at an Islamic seminary in the northwest Pakistani city of Peshawar on Tuesday. At least 7 people were killed and more than 80 people were injured.


A police officer said, “Unknown people planted explosives in a plastic bag.” According to the Peshawar police chief Mohammad Ali Gandapur, the bomb contained up to 6 kg(13 lb) of explosives.


Religious scholar Sheikh Rahimullah was delivering lectures of Islamic teachings to his students at the main hall of Jamia Zubairia when the incident happened.

Prime Minister Imran Khan sent his condolences to the family members of the victims and the injured on Twitter.





The injured were taken to the Lady Reading Hospital. This attack occurs two days after a bombing in the southwestern city of Quetta which killed three people.
