Two assailants on a motorcycle shot a doctor couple in their car in Rajasthan’s Bharatpur town on May 28. The couple identified as Dr. Sudeep Gupta (46) and his wife Dr. Seema Gupta (44) were shot five times where they died on the spot. A police official said that they identified the two accused. Debendra Bishnoi, the Bharatpur Superintendent of Police (SP) said, “In 2019, a woman with whom the doctor had an illicit relationship died along with her son after the doctor’s wife and his mother set fire to their house. Following the incident, the doctor, his wife, and his mother were all in jail, and presently all three were on bail." Prasanna Kumar Khamesra, the inspector general of Bharatpur police, informed one attacker is Anuj Gurjar, the brother of Deepa Gurjar, accompanied by Mahesh Kumar (from Dholpur). According to reports, the couple got killed to avenge Deepa Gurjar’s murder.
