Aatmanirbhar Bharat: Union minister launched India's first CNG tractor

The CNG tractor has been launched after six months of trial- run and required approval have been obtained before its introduction, Gadkari said.

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari launched India's first-ever diesel tractor converted to a CNG tractor on February 12.

The tractor, that was converted to a CNG tractor is owned by Nitin Gadkari only. He was awarded the registration certificate by the minister of petroleum, natural gas and steel, Dharmendra Pradhan. Its conversion was carried out jointly by Rawmatt Techno Solution and Tomasetto Achille India.

This conversion will help the farmers to increase their income by lowering the fuel costs by near rupees 1 Lakh annually.

The government has planned to establish retro fitment centers for CNG kits on tractors in every district. Besides this, CNG has zero lead and it is non-contaminating, non-dilutive, and non-corrosive, which will help in reducing maintenance costs and increase the life of the engine.

The CNG tractor has been launched after six months of trial- run and required approval have been obtained before its introduction, Gadkari said.

CNG is a clean fuel with the lowest content of carbon and other pollutants. It will reduce 70 percent overall emission while comparing to diesel.

CNG is very economical as the average mileage given by CNG is better than that of other fuel-driven vehicles.

Applauding to PM's Aatmnirbharbharat aim, he also said in his statement "it is also a part of Waste to Wealth movement, as subtle(Parali) can be used as a raw material for producing Bio-CNG which will help the farmers to earn more ".
