According to the Samajwadi party leader, there is no need to make women independent.

The Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved the proposal on the age of marriage for women from 18 to 21.

But somebody didn't like this proposal, he is none other than the Samajwadi party leader and Lok Sabha MP Shafiqur Rahman. He questions the government's move to increase the legal age for marriage from 18 to 21.

He questioned the logic behind the move, that such a law would make women independent.

According to his statements, girls should be married off by 18. It would be a relief for parents.

Don't be surprised at all, people like him still exist in our so-called progressive society. who thinks women should only belong to the kitchen and consider them as baby-making machines.

Some ministers like him think the daughters are a burden on parents' shoulders so they want to be free from responsibility as soon as possible.

Only a narrow-minded person can think like this just because the atmosphere for the girl is bad they should be married off. why married them off why can't they get enough time as men get for their education in a so-called egalitarian society.

An 18-year-old girl barely knows their rights if she gets married, an early age as 18 if she gives birth it's lead to health complication and sometimes also leads to severe mental health.

This move by the government would surely help women to pursue higher education and know their rights and she can take her life decision on her own. this is indeed a progressive movement towards empowering women.
