The convicts of Nikita Tomar's murder case were sentenced to life imprisonment today. On Friday, a fast-track court of Faridabad in Haryana sentenced two men for shooting 21-year-old Nikita Tomar. She was shot at point-blank range outside her college in Ballabhgar in October last year.

Tausif and Rehan were held guilty. The third accused Azharuddin was acquitted in the case. CCTV footage provided concrete evidence against the crimes of Tausif and Rehan.

The two convicts Tausif and Rehan also have to pay a fine of Rs.20,000. Defense Counsel Adal Singh Rawat told this to the reporters standing outside the court.

The murder of Nikita Tomar took place in Faridabad District on October 26 by Tausif. The police then informed that Tausif had been pressuring her to marry him. When she stepped out of college on that day, Tausif coerced her and tried pushing her into a car.

Nikita Tomar's family claimed that Tausif stalked her. He kept pressurizing her into marrying her and changing her religion.

Prime accused Tausif and his aide Rehan are booked for conspiracy, kidnapping, and homicide. Mohammad Azharuddin allegedly supplied weapons to the other two.

The court's decision disappointed Nikita Tomar's family. Mother Vijayawati said that the accused should be sentenced to death. She said, "We will talk to our lawyers and go to a higher court. Will fight for justice until the accused is hanged. During these five months too much was suppressed. The accused is from an influential family. We will fight this."

The Faridabad Police filed a 700-page charge sheet. On November 23, the court framed the charges against the accused under IPC sections and Arms Act.

As part of the investigation, 60 witnesses were listed. Assistant Commissioner of Police, Anil Kumar Yadav led the investigation team.
