Union Minister Ajay Mishra’s son, in his SUV, ran over 8 people, 4 of which were farmers protesting at Lakhimpur Kheri.
An FIR has been registered against the son of Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra and several other persons in connection with the Lakhimpur violence that left eight people dead.
“This was a conspiracy to kill us. Ajay Mishra had given a statement that he would not allow farmers in Uttar Pradesh, let alone Lakhimpur. We were protesting against this statement. We were constantly in touch with the police and administration. We were standing along the route to wave black flags at him," Mr. Tejinder Virk, hospitalized in Medanta and being treated for severe wounds, told NDTV.
Priyanka Gandhi was Arrested by Sitapur Police while on her way to meet the family of the Lakhimpur Kheri Victims
Priyanka Gandhi has been formally arrested for violating Section 144 of the Indian Penal Code, for disrupting the peace, and under other sections.
Gandhi was detained on her way to meet the families of farmers who were killed in violence-hit Lakhimpur Kheri district in Uttar Pradesh when she was detained on Sunday night.
Sources have said that she will be presented before the district magistrate soon. But her office has said that they have not been informed about anything yet by the district administration.
A Muslim Man found beheaded on railway track in Karnataka for an alleged affair with a Hindu woman
A 25-year-old man identified as Arbaz Mullah, a resident of Azam Nagar in Belagavi, Karnataka was beheaded and his mutilated body was found on a railway track in the Khanapura taluk a day after he went missing.
The police reportedly suspect the involvement of a Hindutva outfit in the alleged murder. Mullah’s mother had also accused members of a Hindutva organization of having murdered her son, in her complaint.
“Arbaz was in a relationship with a girl from a different community, and according to his mother, he was allegedly threatened before and a local activist had tried to extort money from him to spare him,” a police officer said, The Indian Express reported.
The case of Mullah’s death has been transferred from the railway police to the district police.
