Another Drone shot in the area of Jammu and Kashmir


On Friday morning Jammu and Kashmir police shot down a hexacopter Drone inside the Indian border within the Kanachak area of the Jammu and Kashmir.

According to the information given by the Jammu and Kashmir Police, the hexacopter Drone was carrying approximately 5kg of an Improvised electronic device (IED).

The officer said that the drone was six-winged and was six feet long and also the IED also wrapped in polythene.

Police officials said that these kinds of devices are employed and used by terrorists.

Officer added intelligence and security agencies were probing whether Lashkar-e-Taiba was using this modus operandi to smuggle explosives.

This is not the first time a drone was spotted in Jammu and Kashmir.

Before this, on June 27, two bombs were drone-dropped at the Jammu Air Force station, leaving two IAF personnel injured and rising the tension in the Jammu area.

In the last one month, several drones were spotted in different locations, increasing the threat of drone attacks.

Already there have been several incidents of Pakistan-based terrorists using drones in the border areas of Jammu and Kashmir to drop arms, ammunition, drugs, and money to fuel terrorism in J&K.

DGP of the Jammu and Kashmir Dilbag Singh directed all the officers to stay alert, as the drone activity is continuously rising and these drones are using for terrorist activities.

Officer added intelligence and security agencies were probing whether Lashkar-e-Taiba was using this process to smuggle explosives.
