Another Milestone for India, as 50 per cent of the eligible Population got fully Vaccinated.

India has achieved another milestone as 50% of its eligible population has been fully vaccinated against covid-19.

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said the cumulative vaccine doses administered in the country exceeded 127.61 crores.

"Congratulations India. it is a moment of great pride as over 50% of the eligible population is now fully vaccinated. We will win the battle against covid-19 together," He said in a tweet.

Meanwhile, over 84.8% of the adult population in India has been administered the first dose, according to the Union health ministry's official data.

However, the 'Har Ghar Dastak' campaign worked in favor of the vaccination pace in India. This campaign was launched on 3 November and it aims to ensure vaccination of all eligible beneficiaries through Door to Door visits.

The central government had ramped up the vaccination drive when India detected its fourth case of OMICRON variant of covid-19.

In the wake of a new variant of covid-19 scientists have advised the Union health ministry to ensure double vaccination so that people get a base layer of protection.
