Assam hit by third wave of floods, over 119 reported to be dead on Tuesday

The state of Assam has been plagued by floods for the past 3 weeks

The toll from floods in Assam this year rose to 119 on Monday as one more death was reported. The Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) on Tuesday stated that over 57.7 lakh people have been affected in 30 districts of Assam.

The floods have affected Nagaon the most with over 1.98 lakh affected people. The flood has damaged over 13000 hectares of cultivated land.

The Brahmaputra river was flowing over the danger mark at Nematighat and Tezpur. Relief camps and distribution centers in four districts.

The State Disaster Response Force(SDRF), Circle Office, Civil defense, and local people are involved in the rescue operations.
