Former DIG PK Dutta (R) and BJP leader Diban Deka lured candidates into a scam
One of the prime accused in the job recruitment scam, former DIG PK Dutta, was nabbed at the Indo-Nepal border. The accused had leaked the question paper on social media prior to the exam last month. due to which the Assam government had to cancel the exams.
Dutta was detained at the Indo-Nepal border on the strength pf a lookout circular issued by CID Assam. West Bengal police took over him in the due course while Assam police will bring him to Assam and take him into custody.
Dutta and BJP leader Diban Dekaare are the prime allies in forging this scam that assured over 60,000 candidates that appeared in the exam jobs in lieu of cash.
On September 30, Deka, who lost the elections contesting for BJP in 2011, was arrested and was later thrown out from the party.
The police had issued lookout notices for the two and alerted the income tax department, Enforcement Directorate, and the department of revenue intelligence after confiscating properties belonging to the police officer.
