Two men allegedly drugged her and then raped her. On the way to Lucknow, the girl died.
A little more than 500 km away from Hathras, another 22-year-old Woman died after being allegedly drugged and gang-raped on Tuesday evening in Balrampur district of Uttar Pradesh.
The family of the deceased lodged a complaint against two persons after their girl went missing on her way to college for admission.
When she returned around 7 pm, she was assaulted badly with broken legs and back. The assailants had abducted her and then drugged and while taking her to the doctor, gang-raped her.
After returning the daughter complained of a burning stomach after which she was being taken to a hospital in Lucknow. But she died on the way due to severe damage.
Quick compensation for the family
The family members have been assured a "compensation" of ₹6.18 lakh that was handed over to the family soon after the death.
Several leaders expressed contempt over the Yogi Government for covering up the Hathras case and delaying the persecution of the accused.
The state has been plagued by several rape cases lately including the Hathras incident for which a nationwide protest is going on.
