Bihar Woman 'Comes Back To Life' after being Kidnapped and Killed

Reports say that when Rukhsana wasn’t found anywhere, her father, one Asharaf Ali registered a case of dowry, torture, and kidnap for homicide

This is from Bihar’s Rohtas district, where a woman returned to her husband’s house in Kargahar village. Rukhsana Khatoon was assumed to be dead for 4 years.

According to the allegations, she was kidnapped and killed by her husband. She was married to Khalid Ansari in 2010. The couple had 4 children from the wedlock. She disappeared in 2017 with her 5-year-old son. She left behind the rest of her 3 children. Khalid married another woman in 2019 to take care of his 3 children.

Rukhsana returned to her dwelling alone with no satisfactory explanation about the boy’s whereabouts. The family refused to let her stay and she had to return to her parent’s house. Reports say that when Rukhsana wasn’t found anywhere, her father, one Asharaf Ali registered a case of dowry, torture, and kidnap for homicide under Sections 498A, 364, and 120B of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) towards her husband and other 9 members of his family.

The case is still pending in the Sasaram court. The family said they had to face many hardships throughout the trial of getting bails and fighting the case. Superintendent of police, Ashish Bharti said that police had submitted a charge-sheet in the case for charges of dowry torturing, second marriage in the lifetime of the wife, and common intention under sections 498A, 494, and 34 of the IPC. It was not a case of dowry killing. Police never arrested the accused and they got bail from the court, Bharti said.
