The Maoists abducted Murali Tati, assistant sub-inspector (ASI) from Chhattisgarh Police in Bijapur district of Bastar region. A similar incident occurred on 3rd April when these Maoists abducted Rakeshwar Singh Manhas, a commando of Central Reserve Police Force's elite CoBRA unit and released him on 6th of April. According to the reports, Murali Tati went to his hometown, Palnar village in Bijapur, when he got abducted by the Maoists.
A police who wishes to remain anonymous said, that, Murali Tati, who joined as assistant sub-inspector has been working on most important Anti-Naxal operation in Bijapur and has been on the hit list of Maoists group for a long time. Updates:
Sunderaj P, inspector General of Police, Bastar range, said, “We are getting reliable information that he is safe somewhere near Palnar. Security forces are trying to trace his exact location and bring him back safely. Family members and villagers are also making all efforts in this regard.”
