Chopper Crash At Jalgaon, Maharashtra; 1 Pilot Dead

A helicopter crashed in Jalgaon in Maharashtra on Friday, killing one person and injuring another, according to news agency ANI. As per the news agency, police officers and other local authorities arrived at the incident site. However, no information about the cause of the crash has been released.

A few people can be seen near what looks to be the ruins of the chopper in a photo of the crash that went viral on social media.

According to news agency PTI, the collision occurred near Wardi village in Jalgaon's Chopda area, which is part of the Satpura mountain ranges. The information was received by officials at 5:15 pm.

While one occupant was supposedly a woman, it was unclear who piloted the chopper.

The police officer was quoted by PTI as adding, "One occupant was declared dead on arrival by hospital authorities, while the second individual sustained injuries."

The Union Minister of civil aviation Jyotiraditya M. Scindia expressed his grief and shock over this unfortunate incident on Twitter. He further expressed his condolences to the family of the deceased through the social media platform.
