A case of cylinder blast has been observed in Mumbai (source:- Hindustan Times)
A gas cylinder blast occurred at a four-storey Sarabai building, Ganesh Gali, Lalbaug in Mumbai. Sixteen people were found injured as the gas exploded in the building on Sunday morning in the Lalbaug area. According to the Brihamumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), two fire brigades and two jumbo tankers hurried at the explosion spot.
The fire broke into a nearby chawl and then affected the building people. According to the officials, the blast of an LPG cylinder caused major injuries.
Situation after the fire broke out in the chawl
The blast was reported around 7:23 AM and the fire was extinguished by 7:50 AM. After the extinguishing of the fire, the residents were shifted to Hotel Hiramani located in the Lalbaug area only.
Out of the 16 injured people, 12 were immediately sent to the King Edward Memorial (KEM) hospital in the city and the other 4 were sent to the Global hospital.
The Mayor of Mumbai Kishori Pednekar visited the KEM hospital to meet the injured.
