Debt ridden Meerut man sells his daughter for Rs 2 lakh, victim alleges sexual abuse



In a horrifying incident from Uttar Pradesh's Meerut district, a father sold his 18-year-old daughter in return for the debt he took from a money lender.


The victim alleged that her father sold her for Rs 2 lakh to the man he had borrowed money from.


In January, when the moneylender, who lives in the Baraut district visited the house for the money, the father showed incompetency to pay the loan. He then offered to hand over his daughter against the borrowed amount.


The victim's mother also alleged that her husband burnt her with an iron rod when she protested the harassment of her daughter.


The accused is a truck driver. He has many criminal histories. He had previously spent time in Tihar and Dasna jail.


According to the complaint filed at Partapur police station, the girl reached the house of her mother after she managed to flee from the captivity of the moneylender. Following which, this approached the police.


Simultaneously, the victim girl alleged that she was regularly raped by the moneylender and others since he took her to his house.
