When he was about to be taken to IHBAS again, Singh hanged himself inside the ambulance with a noose.
New Delhi: A sub-inspector of Delhi Police allegedly committed suicide inside an ambulance while being escorted to a hospital. The deceased officer, identified as Rajbir Singh was a 39-year-old family man living in the Mahendragarh district of Haryana in Dwarka.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (South East), R.P.Meena said, that Rajbir was on leave for five days and was also not present in the district line on Friday before he took his own life.
According to the statement of the police department, Rajbir Singh had called a CATS ambulance which took him to the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital, but the doctors refused him admittance.
The ambulance then took him to the Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences (IHBAS), but owing to the absence of assistants and staff, he was refused admittance there as well. Lastly, when the ambulance took him to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital, there the doctors compelled the ambulance personnel to fulfill certain formalities.
When Rajbir was asked to go to IHBAS again, his unleashed aggressiveness made the ambulance workers attempt to calm him down. When he was about to be taken to IHBAS again, Singh hanged himself inside the ambulance with a noose.
The Police have commenced a further investigation in this matter and legal action is assured to be taken towards solving the case.
