Devendra Fadnavis demanded that Uddhav Thackeray should announce wet drought in Maharashtra
The Senior BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis stated that monsoon had caused heavy rainfall in Marathwada, hence demanding the Chief Minister, Uddhav Thackeray to declare wet drought in Maharashtra.
In a letter to Thackeray, Mr. Fadnavis said that the retreating monsoon had caused heavy rainfall in Marathwada, Western Maharashtra and parts of Vidarbha which has resulted in massive crop damage over thousands of hectares. He has also demanded to begin the process of providing relief to the affected.
The leader of opposition in the state Assembly said, “The Thackeray government should declare wet drought do that farmers, who have suffered heavily due to loss of crops, can get relief.”
