A total of three incidents of rape has been reported in Jharkhand
In a yet another disgraceful incident of rape and murder, a 12-year-old girl studying in 5th grade was gang-raped by unidentified men and then killed in Jharkhand's Dumka district.
The body was found in the bush near a temple in Chidi village of Ramgarh police station area.
According to the family, the girl had gone to her tuition on her bicycle in the morning and when she didn't come back on time they started searching for her. The bicycle was found near a temple while her body was lying in the bushes.
The police ordered the Special Investigation Team to look deep into the case. The police gave reportedly recovered a fair share of evidence from the crime spot.
This is the third incident of rape and murder of a minor girl in the course of a week in Jharkhand. On October 10, five men allegedly gang-raped and killed another Class 5 girl in Gumla district. The next day, another minor girl, who had gone out with her friend, was allegedly gang-raped and killed when returning to her village in Sahibganj.
In a tweet, Chief Minister Hemant Soren ordered strict action against the accused. Jharkhand Police and District Administration have been called for setting up a fast track court for a quick runup in the case.
