External Affairs Minister of India, S Jaishankar represents India at the East Asia Summit on Saturday
At the East Asia Summit which was held last day, the external affairs minister of India, S Jaishankar stated that India would uphold the importance of international law and respect of territorial integrity. Further, he also spoke on the Indo-Pacific and noted the growing interest in this region.
He also made a reference to the recent announcement of policies by several countries of the Indo Pacific region which stressed international cooperation and respect of various perspectives of the countries. Due to the present scenario, the summit was held virtually this year chaired by the Prime Minister of Vietnam, Nguyen Xuan Phuc, and was attended by the other member countries. The summit is held each year in the Asia Pacific region dealing with the discussion of issues relating to security and defense.
Since its inception, the summit has been working in wonderful ways recognizing mutual respect among all the countries.
