On Monday night nearly approx. 9 'o'clock (IST) users started facing trouble in sending or receiving messages, voice calls, in using all the other features provided by Facebook and on its other friends' apps like Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger, and Oculus. Around 9'o' clock servers off all these apps faced a global outage worldwide.
When these apps which are being used simultaneously by Billions of people, are stalled even for a while so many kinds of rumors started flying at once. And that's what happened last night people started checking their phones, their internet connection, there is even some rumor that the cyber-attack even came, and some people in India even thought that it seems that the government has shut down the internet in their area today as well.
Then a tweet came from the Facebook giant that "We're aware that some people are having trouble accessing our apps and products. We're working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible, and we apologize for any inconvenience." FB's internal communications system and workplace were also got down, which made their employees unable to do their jobs.
The kind of difficulties users were facing in each minute is no laughing matter and it showcases just how dependent the world has become on a company that is under intense scrutiny.
This outage lasted over five to six hours, as the company took time to stabilize the system again.
more than 410 million users of Facebook
more than 530 million WhatsApp users
And more than 210 million users of Instagram
As technology glitches and outages are common, but to have so many apps in down mode from the world's largest social media giant at the same time for more than 5 hours was highly uncommon.
Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp took Twitter to put their problem in front of their users. Many other social media apps as Twitter, Telegram have benefited from many new users in the meantime.
As users starting complaining of microblogging site Twitter about the disruption in other FB App's services.
