Four Jharkhand Jaguar jawans killed in IED blast triggered by Maoists

Four jawans of Jharkhand Jaguar Special Assault Group -11 have been killed and at least three others are at least injured in the IED blast triggered by banned CPI (Moist) in Langi jungle top langi hills in Chaibasa, Singhbhoom district, Jharkhand.


Four jawans of Jharkhand jaguar have died while one other has been seriously injured in an IED blast triggered by Naxals. Constable Hardwar Shah, constable Kiran Surin died on the spot while Head Constable Devendra Kumar pandit, Constable Deep Topno, and Constable Nikku Oraon were seriously injured and airlifted to Ranchi.


However, two of the injured jawans including Head Constable Devendra Kumar Pandit could not survive and succumbed to his injuries.

As per the information, the combined team of the Central Reserve Police Force and Jaguar Jawans were on regular search operations in the Toklo jungles when the incident took place.


According to the statement released by officials, a pressure IED blast took place today at about 8:45 AM in the forest area of Hoyahatu village in West Singhbhum, Jharkhand.
