P.M Modi addressed the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana on Saturday. He participated in the 'Grih Pravesh' organized under Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana (Gramin) in Madhya Pradesh.
MP chief minister and Rajya Sabha MP Jyotiraditya Scindia also attended the virtual event.
The PMAY-G program promises "Houses for all by 2022" for which a flagship program was launched in November 2016.
As per the statement, 1.14 crore houses have been constructed so far. 17 poor households of Madhya Pradesh have been benefitted from the scheme till now.
Under PMAY-G, each beneficiary is given a 100% grant of Rs. 1.20 lakh with a sharing ratio of 60:40 between Centre and State.
The scheme envisages constructing 2.95 crore houses by the year 2022.“Had it not been the pandemic your 'Pradhan Sevak' would have personally visited to celebrate this glorious occasion with you all.”, PM Modi said.
PM added that the scheme aimed at strengthening the poor and the recipients didn't encounter any government intervention in the smooth conduction of the program.
PM thanked the migrant laborers who despite being forbidden played a remarkable role in taking care of the families.
