With this 75 percent of adults in India got the first dose of vaccine where 31 percent are fully vaccinated.
Union health minister Mansukh Mandaviya appealed to the eligible citizens to get inoculated and be part of this historic day. The government had also planned to make announcements over loudspeakers across the country, villages that have achieved 100 percent inoculation should put up pictures and banners dedicating health workers.
The top five states that have administered the highest number of vaccine doses are Uttar Pradesh followed by Maharashtra, West Bengal, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh.
