India romped home by seven wickets with an over to spare after making easy work of England's battling 193. Pant secured the win with a beautiful six as Chris Jordan gave 23 runs off the penultimate over, with three runs needed from seven balls.

The Indian openers set the tone with an 82-run stand before KL Rahul was out for a 24-ball 51. Fellow opener Ishan Kishan then partnered with Rishabh Pant to keep the tempo high, bringing up his fifty in 36 balls before departing on 70 off 46. Virat Kohli (11 off 13) and Suryakumar Yadav (8 of 9) both went in short succession, but Hardik Pandya's (16 off 10) cameo kept the pursuit on the track.
Only Jasprit Bumrah (1-26) and R Ashwin (0-23) bowled at less than 10 runs per over, while Mohammed Shami took three wickets but gave up 40 runs in four overs.
Ex-India allrounder Irfan Pathan named Jasprit Bumrah as the team's X-factor ahead of India's T20 World Cup opener against Pakistan. Bumrah surrendered only 26 runs and took a wicket in his four overs against England in a warm-up game that saw 380 runs scored.
During the headline event, the top pacer would lead the attack and be responsible for getting breakthroughs with the new ball while keeping things tight at the backend.
“When we talk about Varun Chakravarthy, it’s clear that he will do really well because he has mystery and also is in top form. But according to me in terms of bowling, there is only one X factor and that is Bumrah. There can’t be a bigger X factor than Bumrah in any other team,”
