Two months after withdrawing nomination from the OMB, Indian-American Neera Tanden appointed as Senior Advisor to the U.S. president, Joe Biden.
Neera Tanden was the President of the Center for American Progress (CAP) and also a former government official. She is going to join the White House as a senior consultant to President Joe Biden. A couple of months back, she had withdrawn her name from the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). This was because of the ongoing bipartisan criticism.
John Podesta, the founder of the Centre of American Progress (CAP) stated how Tanden's intellect, political IQ, and tenacity would be an asset to the Biden government. He also said that the CAP would miss her, as she was one of the founding figures of the organization. He further expressed how excited he is to see her serve the White House and the people of America.
Tanden developed and led several policy solutions under the Biden Administration at CAP for several years. She was the President and CEO of CAP and the CAP Action Fund. She was also the policy director for Hillary Clinton's first presidential campaign. She monitored the domestic policy proposals during the Obama-Biden presidential campaign.
Ms. Tanden holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a degree in Law from Yale Law School. She began her carrier as an associate director for domestic policies under former president, Bill Clinton's government. She also played the role of a senior policy advisor to the First Lady.
