FLASHBACKS OF KASKAR-
He was supposedly living in United Arab Emirates (UAE) before 2003. However, he was deported in 2003. Various news media websites revealed he was at peace, looking after his brother’s real estate business in Mumbai.
In 2017, he again sprang up and made headlines. They booked him under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) for alleged money laundering. Enforcement Directorate (ED) had booked a case against him for extorting money from a builder in Maharashtra. According to the builder's complaint in Thane Police Station of Mumbai, Kaskar had been threatening and extorting money from him since 2013. He allegedly had extorted Rs. 3 crore approximately from him over a deal of a 38-acre land in Mumbai's Gorai area.
Earlier this year, the NCB cracked a drug syndicate at Nagpada in Mumbai which was run by an associate of Dawood Ibrahim and Kaskar. Since then the NCB had clues of Kaskar’s involvement in it.
At present, Kaskar is lodged in Thane's Jail of Mumbai.
