In the past 3 days, it was the second Maoists attack. The Maoists allegedly killed 55 yr, old villager, Jagir Bhagat on Sunday night in the village of Mungo by accusing him an informer of police. The alleged incident occurred on the evening of Tuesday and the body was recovered by the police officials on Wednesday when the authorities rushed to the crime spot. The SP of Lohardaga, Priyanka Meena gave the statement that 2 burned vehicles and 1 body were recovered from the spot and further investigation is being probed. However, the SP didn't provide any information on how they are tackling the Maoists situation in the area.

The bridge is being constructed at a cost of 2.5 crores just 1 km away from the police-station of Peshrar over the river of Onegada. Workers who were engaged in the process of construction told the source that an armed Maoists group arrived at the site of the construction and set fire to the excavator and tractor. After that, they took Vicky Gupta, the victim, and killed him dead. It is being suspected by the police officials that levy can be the motivation behind the alleged crime and a sub-divisional team is investigating the whole situation. Jharkhand police have recorded 231 cases owing to Maoists as of September.
