Kolkata High Court announces 100 special vehicles to enforce firecracker ban.

A week after the High court of Kolkata announced a total ban of firecrackers for the whole month of November, it now announces the effect of a hundred more vehicles to ensure a safe ban. In this strain, a number of patrol vehicles in the form of police control room vehicles (PCRs), heavy radio flying squad, motorbike squads, as well as autos hired by local cops for safe ensuring of law and order, will patrol the entire city in an attempt to restrict usage of firecrackers. For the first time in history, they will be entrusted with safe maintenance

of social distancing in addition to the firecracker ban.

The police headquarters has further clarified how PCRs, heavy radio flying squad and motorbike squads will be fulfilling both duties of firecracker ban and maintenance of social distancing protocol. Autos will be used for chasing and prosecution purposes. In addition, special teams will be deployed at specific locations, with extra care given to areas like Phoolbagan, Behala, Tollygunge, Ballygunge, Lake Gardens, Patuli, Jadavpur, Cossipore, and Entally. A civic volunteer is to be deputed at each of the Kali Puja pandals.

Furthermore, the police have assured of a hotline number directly linked to WBPCB in addition to the dedicated hotline numbers. A joint CP has explained how their work sector is altogether different this year when they themselves have to maintain social distancing protocol in addition to ensuring it within other members. They have instructed the pandals to be fire-cracker free.
