Lalu Prasad gets bail from Jharkhand HC on Fodder case

The path has been cleared for Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Yadav to come out of jail. Lalu Yadav has got bail from Jharkhand High Court in the matter of withdrawal of Rs 3.13 crore from the Dumka treasury. He is currently serving a sentence in the fodder scam case.


Lalu Yadav has already got bail in other cases related to the fodder scam case. Lalu has already got bail in the Chaibasa and Deoghar treasury case. The trial is still going on in the case of the Doranda treasury. Now the way for Lalu Yadav to come out of jail has been cleared.

Lalu Yadav was sentenced to seven years in jail. Lalu has already served half the sentence after which he has been granted bail. Justice Apresh Singh said that Lalu Yadav has been in jail for 42 months and 11 days. This is more than half the sentence. Singh said that Lalu Yadav will be able to come out of jail after paying two security bonds of one lakh each and a fine of five lakhs each under the IPC and PC Act.


Lalu Yadav's son Tej Pratap wrote on Twitter, "The leadership of the poor, deprived and backward is coming. Our leader is coming to those who do injustice."


Significantly, after Lalu Prasad's health worsened on 23 January. The Medical Board of RIMS recommended him for better treatment at AIIMS in Delhi, after which Lalu was allowed to send AIIMS for a month in a hurried jail. The administration had given it.
