Man dies from firecracker blast in Patiala

A tragic incident took place in Patiala where a 45-year-old man died. The victim suffered many injuries after a blast in a firecracker-loaded motorcycle rickshaw.

Place of the blast incident

The incident took place in Tibbi Village of Fatehgarh Sahib on Monday. A rickshaw was taking illegally manufactured crackers. The driver was transporting the crackers from Maloud village in Khanna to Amloh town.

The victim named Ravinder Kumar died on spot. He was a resident of the Somalkheri village. Surinder Singh, who was driving the vehicle also received several injuries.

Singh is currently admitted to Government Rajindra Hospital, Patiala. He is under medical observation.

Background of the blast incident

The Superintendent of Police Jagjit Singh spoke about the incident. According to him, the blast took place when the firecrackers were being taken to Amloh. As per the SP, the blast also caused damages to several nearby houses.

Police Action

The police have registered a case. Ravinder was transporting firecrackers. These are generally used in marriages, along with a bag of potash. As the vehicle passed over a speed-breaker, Ravinder was tossed into the air. But he landing on the potash bag, triggering a blast.

The Police have registered a case. They called Forensic Experts to collect samples from the spot. A case under the Explosives Substances Act and Section 336, 337, and Section 432 has been booked.
