The intensity of cruelty is increasing every day, and the incident came to light a few hours ago. The ghastly incident took place in Kapsad village of Sardhana in Meerut district, where a 14-year-old teenage girl was allegedly abducted and gang-raped, and poisoned in Meerut village on Thursday on her way back from tuition. The Dalit girl, somehow, reached home and narrated the ordeal she went through. They immediately rushed her to the SSD Global Hospital in Modipuram, where she succumbed to death. Keshav Kumar, Meerut’s Superintendent of Police (Rural) who is heading the case, claimed that they have recovered a suicide note in which the Dalit girl has named four youth inclusive Lakahn and Vikas, who is from the neighboring village and according to reports, one of them is from the same tuition as hers. The police took Lakhan and Vikas into custody while the other officers are on a lookout for other members of the gang. The charges filed against the gang are abduction, gang rape, and murder because of poisoning. Crime against girls and women continued to rise in Uttar Pradesh despite tall claims made by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. In the year 2021, not only there’s a rise in covid cases but rape cases as well, which should also be one of the prime concerns and strict measures should be taken.
