Palghar district was hit by an earthquake of 3.5 measurements on the Ritcher scale
Maharashtra's Palghar district was hit by a mild earthquake measuring 3.5 on the Ritcher scale on Monday morning at around 7 am. Officials said that there was no report of any casualty or damage to property.
The district disaster control cell chief Vivekanand Kadam said that the earthquake was experienced at 8.07 am in the Paraswadi area of Dahanu taluka. The tremors were felt around 7.20 am at Dhundalwadi village, in Palghar.
It was also said by the officials that the village had experienced a 2.9 magnitude earthquake just two days back.
According to the National Centre for Seismology (NCS), the earthquake tremors were felt 102 km north of Mumbai, there was no report of loss of life or injuries due to the earthquake. Four mild earthquakes were recorded in the district on Friday and Saturday.
Dahanu and Talasari tehsils, in the Palghar district, have been witnessing low to moderate intensity earthquakes since November 2018.
