'Misuse of donation an insult to faith.'

Congress' chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewala tweeted which is roughly translated from Hindi,

"Lord Ram, what kind of days are these? Scams are taking place as people seek donations in your name. Shameless robbers are intoxicated with arrogance like Ravana and are selling faith."

Without stating anyone's name, the Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra remarked that misusing religious donation is an insult to the faith of the crores of people who had "made offerings at the feet of God." She added misuse of donations by devotees is a sin and an insult to their faith.

The allegation that the land worth Rs 2 crore was brought at an inflated price of Rs 18. 5 crores was made by AAP's Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh and a former minister in the Samajwadi Party government, Pawan Pandey.

Although Priyanka Gandhi Vadra refrained from naming anybody through her reaction it was understandable that with the recent developments surrounding a set of allegations leveled by opposition parties in Uttar Pradesh against the Ram temple trust.

The Samajwadi Party and the Aam Aadmi Party alleged on Sunday that the price of a piece of land bought by the Ram temple trust changed from ₹2 crore to ₹18.5 crores within minutes.
