Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said,
"The government of Madhya Pradesh is farmer-friendly and will procure each grain of the farmer’s crop. The last date for procurement and loan repayment has been extended."
On Friday under the Mukhyamantri Kisan Kalyan Yojana, CM has addressed farmers from his residence through video conference after depositing Rs 1,500 crore in the bank accounts of 75 lakh farmers.
He had also appealed to farmers and farmer organizations to cooperate in this pandemic situation.
Chief Minister said, "the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi is a boon for small farmers. He informed that there are 78 lakh farmers in the state, out of whom only 24 lakh farmers are able to avail the benefit of minimum support price. Under the Pradhan Mantri Yojana, farmers with half an acre of land also get Rs 6,000 in a year from the central government. Under the scheme, 77 lakh farmers have received about Rs 8,465 crore rupees so far."
CM informed that more than 90 lakh metric tonnes of wheat and more than one lakh metric tonnes of a gram have been purchased. Lentils are also being purchased.
He also said the date of purchase for the Indore division has been extended from May 5 to May 15. And in other divisions purchase will be done till 25 May.
On this auspicious occasion, farmer welfare and agriculture development minister Kamal Patel also joined the web link along with the farmers of the state.
