Mumbai Indians' most awaited win After losing three matches

Mumbai Indians (MI) win by six wickets over Punjab Kings (PBKS) at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday,42nd match of IPL 2021. With this win, Mumbai Indians kept their hopes of taking place in the playoffs alive. MI finally got a win in UAE after losing three matches continuously.

Punjab kings had registered only 136 runs on the scoreboard as MI's bowlers bowled well.

MI won the toss and chose to ball first, MI restricted PBKS at 136 and achieved the target in 19 overs losing just 4 wickets. Saurabh Tiwari and Hardik Pandya played well and lead their team to victory. This is MI's first win in this leg of IPL in UAE, which is keeping playoffs' hopes alive for the defending champions.

MI had face a bad situation when Ravi-Bishnoi dismissed Captain Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav after this Quinton De Kock (27) and Saurabh Tiwary (45) add runs on the scoreboard and took the team closer to victory. Mohammed Shami broke this partnership in the 10th over but Tiwary continued his battle for the team Kieron Pollard (15) hit Arshdeep Singh for back-to-back boundaries in the 18th over which brought Mumbai Indians closer to win. Hardik Pandya finished off the chase and stayed not out at 40 runs.

Earlier Punjab scored 135 runs and Aiden Markram scored 42 runs highest in Punjab Kings.

Deepak Hooda (28), soon Punjab lost to 48/4 in 8th over which led Punjab down in the match.

Kieron Pollard took 2 wickets of KL Rahul and Chris Gayle in just a single over.
