Three people died in National Guard Helicopter Crash just near south of Lucky Peak, which is a little more than 10 miles southeast of the state capital in Boise, shortly after 8 p.m. local time on Wednesday.
Authorities said the deceased was a pilot with the Idaho Army National Guard. They were going on UH-60 Black Hawk and on a training mission.
Col. Christopher Burt, the Idaho Army National Guard's state aviation officer stated that the Black Hawk last contacted the authority around 7:45 pm and there was an emergency transmitter locator got activated just after 8 pm in the aircraft. At about 12:15 am, Rescuers found the wreckage and the crew. As the cause of the crash still unknown, the investigation is underway.
Major General Michael J. Garshak said, "This is a tremendous loss to the Idaho National Guard and our community". “Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and loved ones as we work through this tragedy", he added.
Then names of the deceased have not been revealed yet.
