After the successful conduction of raids, the NCB arrested six people. Among the six people, there was also a foreign national.
The NCB seized a variety of illegal drugs. They seized 165 grams of mephedrone. They also recovered 20 grams of LSD (Lysergic Acid Diethylamine) and 8 grams of MDMA (Ecstasy).
On Sunday, the National Narcotics Bureau raided a spot in the Mahim area of Maharashtra. They raided a location near Mao Chinese Restaurant. After searching, they arrested a man and a woman. The team on site also seized 105 grams (commercial quantity) of mephedrone from them. This information was stated by NCB Zonal Director, Sameer Wankhede.
Wankhede said, "It has been observed during our drives that teenage girls are being used as peddlers for trafficking drugs."
The NCB conducted another raid at Dhokal in Thane West. On March 27, NCB Mumbai raided a location at Everest World Building. The team arrested another person who owned drugs. They seized MDMA tablets and 20 blots (0.5 grams) of LSD. After questioning the three individuals from Mahim and Thane, they raided another spot. A raid was also conducted in an apartment in Andheri West. The agency raided Flat Number 1203, Millenium Heritage. The team recovered 57 grams (commercial quantity) of mephedrone from a man and a woman.
On Monday, another raid at Khargar in Navi Mumbai was conducted. The NCB team received information about a drug peddler from their sources. But, when the team went to arrest him, he already fled the place. After chasing around for some distance, they managed to get hold of Kenneth Ezi. He is a Nigerian National. The team allegedly seized 200 grams of mephedrone from his possession.
Among the other accused, Mark De Costa, Abdul Kadir, Naziya Shaikh, and Imran Shaikh. One teenage girl is also booked.
Sameer Wankhede, NCB IRS said, "NCB MZU is striving hard to identify the suppliers. In this way, we can dismantle the organized syndicate. Further investigation is underway."
