The 23-year-old Neeraj Chopra created history by winning Gold Medal at Tokyo Olympics 2020. This is the first gold medal for India. He achieved this in the men's javelin throw final. In the individual category, his medal is the second gold medal for the country in Olympics after Abhinav Bindra.
He became the first Indian to get a Gold Medal in track and field events. In his first row, he threw the javelin and reached 87.03m and then he bettered it with 87.58m. All in all, he threw his 4 shots in which his last two throws were disqualified. His personal best was 87.58 and he couldn't go beyond that. Well, no other players even crossed that.
It is such a proud moment for our country. India got its Gold at the Olympics and the Golden Boy. Neeraj ended the 121-years wait for an athletics gold medal at Olympics.
