Oxygen containers airlifted by IAF; 6 from Dubai and 4 from Bangkok.

On April 27, four empty oxygen containers airlifted by C17 aircraft of IAF from Bangkok and landed at Panagarh early morning. Also, 6 empty cryogenic oxygen containers were airlifted on April 26, from Dubai to Panagarh, West Bengal and landed on the same day at around 7:15 pm. Apart from carrying out numerous domestic shuttles, the IAF, last week, ferried 4 containers from Singapore to Panagarh. A variety of aircraft like C-17, C-130J, IL-76, An-32, Avro, Chinook and Mi-17 helicopters is used by IAF. Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister reviewed the operations on Monday and was briefed by Bipin Rawat, the chief of defence staff General on the preparations by the military to assist in Covid management. The armed forces, the Defence Research and Development Organisation and the defence public sector are working overtime and have set up Covid hospitals, airlifted medical staff and oxygen containers. In India itself, IAF airlifted 1 cryogenic oxygen container from Baroda to Ranchi, 1 from Hindan to Panagarh2 from Pune to Jamnagar, 2 from Bhopal to Jamnagar, 3 from Jaipur to Jamnagar, and 3 from Indore and Bhopal to Jamnagar.
