PM Modi inaugurated the Kashi Vishwanath Dham project in Varanasi.



PM Modi inaugurated phase one of the Kashi Vishwanath corridor projects that connects the temple town's two iconic landmarks, Kashi Vishwanath and Ganga Ghats from his Lok Sabha constituency Vanarashi, Uttar Pradesh.


This project aims to ensure heritage structures get preserved. The estimated cost is around 399 crore.


In this phase of the project 23 buildings are to be inaugurated which will provide ease and convince the pilgrims to visit Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple.


The project is now spread over a massive area of about 5 lakhs square feet, whereas earlier premises was limited to just around 3000 Square feet.


The gateways and other structures have been built with stone and other materials using traditional craftsmanship.


The project involved the purchase and acquisition of more than 300 properties around the temple. Where around 1,400 shopkeepers, tenants, and homeowners were rehabilitated amicably.


PM Modi said "Today's India had both Virasat (heritage) and Vikas (progress). It not only beautifies Somnath Temple but also lays a thousand kilometers of optical fiber in the sea. Today's India not only renovated the Kedarnath temple but is preparing to send Indians to space. Today's India not only makes a Ram temple in Ayodhya but also makes medical colleges in every District of UP. Today's India is not only giving Vishwanath temple a grand look but also making crores of houses for the poor" He said.
