PM Modi's seventh address to the nation since the COVID-19 pandemic

India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation at 6 pm today


PM Modi addressed the nation today at 6 pm to talk about the Coronavirus pandemic which is still a matter of caution.

As the festive season is here, people have started getting out of their lockdowns finally in order to enjoy thereby crowding places.


Hence, India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his seventh address to the nation since the pandemic warned people of staying cautious while taking precautions in order to stay safe.


He stated that even though the lockdown might have been pulled down, the virus is still there. As the festive season is here, markets are in full bloom and people are prone to neglecting the seriousness of the pandemic, therefore we need to remember that even though the lockdown has been pulled down, the virus still persists.


Prime Minister Modi said in his address. He also stated that India has been in a stable situation due to the efforts of each and every Indian over the last 7-8 months, and therefore we must not meet it deteriorate.

It isn't right to be careless and walk without masks. As we will be putting ourselves and our family in danger. Many people have stopped taking precautions now, he added.

PM Modi has addressed the nation a number of times during the ongoing crisis in which he has spoken about various measures, including lockdown, economic and welfare packages. Amit Shah, home minister, tweeted that the well-being and security of Indian's is the priority of the Modi government, and the center's focus has been saving lives amid the pandemic as well.

While Rahul Gandhi, Congress party's leader asked the PM to tell the nation the date by which he will “throw the Chinese out of Indian territory”.

PM Modi stated that a little carelessness can stop our movement and destroy our happiness, as people start celebrating festivals amid pandemic. He said that all of us are indeed are moving through a difficult time and need to carry the responsibilities of life and vigilance simultaneously, in order to be happy in life. He warned people to keep in mind about the SOPs of social distancing while celebrating festivals like Diwali, Eid, Guru Nanak Jayanti, etc.


Relating to the status of the COVID-19 vaccine, PM Modi said that several versions of vaccines are being worked upon in the country, while few of them are at an advanced stage.


Arrangements are also being made by the government in order to prepare the nation to ensure that the vaccine reaches every citizen as soon as possible. But all of us need to be cautious until the vaccine is created. As the number of cases has seemed to increase after seeing a reduction in countries like Europe and America. This is not the time to be careless: PM Modi.

The death rate of India at per million population is 83. While on the contrary, the number is over 600 in several countries such as the US, UK, and Brazil. India has fortunately been successful in saving the lives of its citizens, much better than other resource-rich countries as our fatality rate is lower than the developed countries throughout the world. The PM also stated that we have traveled a long distance since Janata Curfew. Even though many people have gone back to work and have started following their earlier routine, we still need to be careful as the crisis is still not over and the virus still persists among us.
