The kid was held captive at her aunt's in the Iglas area of Aligarh district for three months. a social organization named Aligarh unit of Childline reported the mistreatment of the kid to the police after which they rescued her on September 17.

Girl's aunt, an accomplice missing
The police arrested the 15-year-old cousin who has confessed his crime while his mother who is believed to be an accomplice in the assault and mistreatment is missing.
The kin of the victim held protests and staged a blockade. The family demanded the arrest of the aunt only after which the cremation would be performed. Police rendered a compensation of Rs 5 lakh to the family and promised the arrest would follow. The boy has been sent to the juvenile home in Mathura.
The incident comes in the wake of nationwide outrage over the gangrape of a 19-year-old girl in Hathras and the mishandling of the police in the matter. The hasty cremation by the authorities has raised several doubts about whether it was an act to wipe off some key evidence regarding the crime.
