Returned Kolkata Along With Covid-19 Positive From UK
Among 222 passengers, 2 resulted in coronavirus positive. The 25 passengers, who didn’t have RT-PCR test reports with them at the time of landing, were tested in Kolkata. Two of them tested Covid-19 positive and were shifted to two separate hospitals. One was admitted at the Kolkata Medical College and the other was admitted at Chittaranjan National Cancer Institute, both state-run Covid-19 designated hospitals. The flight is known to be departed from London and landed in Kolkata on December 20, 2020 dawn. The samples of the virus had been sent off to the experts for examining the audacity of the virus.
NS Nigam, the state health secretary said that two people have been tested positive for the perilous virus lately in the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport on Sunday. The affected are presently admitted to the hospital and are under observation by experts who are examining the samples to check if these are a new strain.
